The Allen Pearson Emergency Services Foundation Charity Ride

Oct. 2, 2010 Bill Faye Park, Kinston, NC This ride is in Honor of Detective Allen Pearson. Detective Rickie "Allen" Pearson Jr. was a devoted deputy sheriff, beloved husband and friend and brother to all. Allen was a Criminal Investigator in the Detective's Division of the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office in Kinston, NC. Allen had been with the Sheriff's Office for approximately 8 years. Allen had served in numerous positions including Detention Officer, Civil Deputy, Patrol Deputy, and Interdiction Officer and to his final promotion of Detective. Allen was also a volunteer firefighter. On April 8, 2009, Lenoir County deputies were dispatched to the Tick Bite Area of Lenoir County to investigate a person shooting a gun. When the arrest team encountered the suspect, he fired an unprovoked shot and fatally wounded Detective Allen Pearson. Allen is the only law enforcement officer known to have been killed by gunfire in Lenoir County history. Allen is survived by his wife, Katherine Woodyard Pearson and is Father, Major Rickie Pearson of the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office. The Foundation provides money for scholarships as well to emergency services. There is no cost to ride in this event. It's donation only. All types of bikes and riders are welcome. The ride will be around the Lenoir County area. The foundation will also be selling tickets to win a custom built motorcycle. Only 4000 tickets will be sold. Tickets for the bike are $25. T-Shirts and Helmet stickers will also be available. Allen's call number was 105, so we will be selling ticket's for a chance to win $105 dollars. There is also a softball tournament the same weekend at the park. More info will follow and tickets for the motorcycle, t-shirts, and helmet stickers will be available at www.allenpearsonfoundation.org For more information about the ride, please email "Trauma" at trauma_allenpearsonfoundation@yahoo.com for more info on the foundation please email Lynn at lhill@westsideminerals.com
